Primary Function: Perform a variety semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and construction duties in the maintenance of District buildings, facilities, and equipment .

Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, feel, talk, hear, crawl, and to read a variety of printed and coded materials

Seasonal hear and cold or adverse weather conditions

Ability to work indoors and outdoors during all types of weather including hot, cold, rainy, humid, and dry conditions

 

Lifting to 40lbs

 

Qualifications:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

Minimum of three (3) years prior maintenance experience with knowledge of methods, equipment and materials used in general maintenance work preferred                                                   

Must possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving record                          

The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.


Essential Functions:

 

Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and construction duties in the maintenance of District buildings, facilities, and equipment

 

Perform various skilled duties such as electrical, heating, air conditions, ventilation, and other related systems

 

Inspect District and school buildings to ensure compliance with district specifications and compliance to State and local code

 

Assist technicians with installation, inspection, and maintenance of special equipment which may include but not limited to fire, safety, energy management, security, intercoms, and  access and HVAC control systems

 

Assist local authorities, as well as outside vendors, in gaining access to facilities, responding to emergency alarms, and providing general building information when requested

 

Assist technician in response to District comfort complaints, including on-site verification of temperatures, calibrate and verify accuracy of HVAC controls, and receive, enter and maintain Energy Request submittals

 

Assist with performing building inspections for proper energy usage and maintain proper conditioning

 

Patch and paint damaged walls and doors

 

Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools and equipment

 

Communicate problems/concerns with equipment to appropriate manager/supervisor

 

Make recommendations which will improve job performance and/or equipment reliability as appropriate

 

Work without constant supervision

 

Complete all assigned work orders including special project work

 

Maintain all tools and equipment used in performance of job responsibilities

 

Maintain clean work site

 

Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, obtaining proper signatures from the issuing administrator

 

Estimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobs

 

Assist in ordering materials as directed

 

Report immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and district employees

 

Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
