Position Title: STEM Teacher

Primary Function: Ability to provide instruction, assessing and encouraging student progress. Ability to manage the learning environment, complying with state and district level regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Professional Standards Commission

Instructional Technology certification preferred

Elementary Education (P-5) preferred

The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.


Essential Functions:

 

Delivers STEM/STEAM-oriented instruction through STEM/STEAM Challenges and Project- and Problem-Based Learning

 

Ensures instructional strategies and assessments align to STEM/STEAM curriculum goals and student learning objectives

 

Uses an integrated approach to technology, fostering critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication among the core STEM/STEAM subjects

 

Manages the classroom/lab environment through facilitation and inquiry-based learning practices

 

Identifies resources that will support STEM/STEAM implementation within each school served

 

Attends professional development related to STEM/STEAM programming

 

Works with school administrators and staff to assist in the organization, development, and coordination of school level STEM/STEAM events and activities

 

Follows the Paulding County School District’s job description for a classroom teacher

 

Complies with state and district level regulations and policies

 

Complies with the rules of the Professional Standards Commission code of ethics for educators

 

Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee
